Welcome
Welcome to the Arts Ed Toolkit, Ovation’s education program in partnership with Cable in the Classroom.
Resources
Our resources are free for all educators and include streaming program clips and downloadable lessons designed in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education, Office of Arts and Special Projects.
The materials are suitable for grades 9 - 12 and include video clips of documentaries, films and complementary curriculum units. These resources are in alignment with the National Visual Arts Standards, as outlined by the National Art Education Association. Many of the lessons are suitable for various other arts disciplines including music, dance, theater, language arts and design.
We are pleased to present our new lineup of compelling documentaries and curriculum units. Featured titles and lessons include: Masters Of American Music: Billie Holiday, The Innovators - American Modern Dance Pioneers, and Art of the Heist: Missing Mona Lisa.
Monthly Programs
Ovation airs monthly arts-related programs commercial free, for viewing, recording and/or streaming. Teachers can find the program titles, dates, and times on the Arts Ed Toolkit main page.
Featured Partner
Ovation is proud to announce a new educational partnership with the J. Paul Getty Museum. The J. Paul Getty Museum provides over one hundred standards-based lessons to K-12 teachers for use in the classroom. Teachers can discover free lessons and images, ranging from the world of ancient Greece and Rome to contemporary photographs. In addition to meeting standards in the visual arts, select lessons address history, language arts and performing arts standards. Getty lesson plans will be featured monthly.
