Ovation Unveils New On-Air and Online Look March 1

New Ovation Branding Reflects the Dynamic Nature of the Art and Contemporary Culture Category

Santa Monica, CA -- February 24, 2010   Ovation TV, the only television channel dedicated to art and contemporary culture, is rebranding the network as simply Ovation and will debut its new look on March 1.  The new branding package is being introduced as the network is approaching 40 million subscribers and is unveiling new programming events.

The new branding includes a new Ovation logo and mark, on-air package, advertising campaign, collateral and corporate materials.  The new network identity was developed for Ovation by Oishii Creative and executed in partnership with Ovation’s in-house Creative Services team.

“We’ve evolved rapidly over the last three years.  This striking new look pulls everything we’ve learned about the brand into focus,” said Kris Slava, SVP of Programming, Ovation.  “From our original programming to our curated events and series – this new visual language allows us to adapt to an infinite variety of artistic genres and interpretations.”

On the heels of the new branding launch, Ovation is introducing two new stunts in March and April:  “Sacred to Profane,” a look at some controversial approaches to depicting religion and religious beliefs through art, debuting March 28; and “Passport Ovation,” premiering April 11 and featuring travel-related shows like the new Ovation original series The Scenic Route with host David Keeps. Ongoing programming events include “American Revolutionaries,” Framed,” “Music of the Night,” “Design to Die For” and “Battle of the Nutcrackers.”

“Everything we do is judged against three brand criteria: smart, surprising and fun.  This new branding helps us convey that message.” said Gaynor Strachan Chun, SVP of Marketing, Ovation. “Oishii Creative did an excellent job of capturing Ovation’s vibrant and distinct voice, while underscoring the broad appeal of the art and contemporary culture category.”
