Ovation Outranks Virtually All Cable Nets in Year-Over-Year Audience Growth
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
OVATION OUTRANKS VIRTUALLY ALL CABLE NETS IN YEAR-OVER-YEAR AUDIENCE GROWTH
Santa Monica, CA -- June 15, 2012 Ovation, the only multi-platform network celebrating art, artists and all forms of artistic story-telling, outranked virtually all other cable networks in year-over-year audience growth, according to recent Nielsen data.
Among the coveted AD 25-54 demographic, Ovation grew 94% in the key primetime day part and ranked #3 in year-over-year growth. More than half of the 100 cable networks measured registered year-over-year declines.
"Achieving this growth against the backdrop of a highly competitive May sweeps month is a testament to the strength of our programming and the value of our brand," said Liz Janneman, EVP Ad Sales, Ovation.
Ovation's distribution also showed impressive gains increasing 18% and ranking #2 in year-over-year growth to over 51 million households.
“With the launch of our critically acclaimed 'The Best You've Never Seen' programming block and the up-coming premiere of our new original series, A Chance to Dance, we anticipate further audience gains as we move into the summer and fall months," continued Janneman.
“The Best You’ve Never Seen” airs every Saturday night and features original and US premiere programming. The New York Times proclaimed “The Best You’ve Never Seen” as “very worthwhile” and The Runaway, a mini series currently airing in the block, as having “enough style to stand out from the summer-television crowd.”
Ovation’s new, original series A Chance to Dance, produced by Nigel and Simon Lythgoe (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance), premieres on Ovation August 17.
