Ovation TV Names Liz Janneman Head of Ad Sales

Janneman Brings 20 Years of Cable Ad Sales Experience to Network

LOS ANGELES – April 8, 2009  Cable Ad Sales veteran Liz Janneman has been tapped by Ovation TV as Senior Vice President of Ad Sales.  Janneman will head the rapidly growing network’s ad sales team.  Janneman comes to Ovation TV with over 20 years of managerial experience gained working at Current TV, Weather Channel, AOL/Time Warner, Turner Entertainment and Saatchi & Saatchi.  She will lead the network’s ad sales efforts from its New York offices and report directly to Ovation TV CEO Charles Segars.

“We are thrilled to have been able to attract such an experienced and accomplished ad sales executive to head the Ovation TV sales team,” said Charles Segars, CEO, Ovation TV.  “Even in these challenging times, the power of the Ovation TV brand and its unique category has created explosive growth in ad sales, distribution and consumer awareness.  Liz, along with Deborah Cuffaro and the rest of the sales team, will be a powerful combination in continuing this momentum.”

“I am very excited to be working with Deb and the entire team at Ovation TV,” commented Janneman.  “What an incredible job they’ve done in just two years.  I was so impressed with their progress both on the distribution side and the advertising side that I knew I wanted to be a part of the next phase of growth for this network.  I have always enjoyed working on unique brands with broad appeal and as the only television channel dedicated to the arts and contemporary culture, Ovation TV is certainly that.”

Most recently, Janneman was President of Ad Sales for Current TV, where she oversaw ad sales efforts for both the channel and currentv.com.  Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President of Ad Sales for Weather Channel for two years.  Previously, she was Executive Vice President of Ad Sales for AOL/Time Warner where she was responsible for ad sales efforts for TNT and TBS, during which time revenues doubled to exceed $1 billion annually.

Janneman began her sales career with Turner at CNN in 1989 as an account executive and was promoted to Vice President, Ad Sales both in New York and in Los Angeles in 1992 and 1993 respectively.  She was named SVP of Ad Sales for Turner Sports in 1994 and then SVP of Ad Sales for Turner Entertainment Networks in 1995.

Before working on the network side, Janneman worked as VP/Associate Buying Director for Saatchi & Saatchi. She graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Business Administration.
