 | CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER Ron Garfield is Chief Operating Officer of Ovation TV. His primary responsibilities are development and execution of the network’s distribution and advertising sales agendas. This includes current cable and satellite distribution, as well as expanding the channel's reach across other platforms, including broadband, mobile and IPTV. As a founding member of the executive management team of Ovation TV, he is also involved in developing and executing the long-range strategic plans for network. Prior to joining Ovation TV, Mr. Garfield was the principal of GCG Media Consulting. The company provided strategic plans, overviews, planning and negotiation in the areas of content distribution, marketing, ad sales and content acquisition across multiple platforms. He also served as Senior Vice President of Network Distribution and Service at Hallmark Channel, where he played a key role in growing Hallmark's distribution from 20 to 56 million subscribers. He also conceived and executed a unique corporate partnership between key distribution customers - specifically between Hallmark Gold Crown Stores and the Hallmark Channel -- and spearheaded Hallmark’s local ad sales strategies. Mr. Garfield held a similar position at Fox Broadcasting Company, where he helped the broadcaster through its affiliate expansion as their Senior Vice President of Network Distribution. While at Fox, his team handled negotiations for the NFL's football package with local broadcast affiliates and they crafted a plan, in conjunction with Fox News and Fox Broadcasting, to increase local news presence within the Fox affiliate group. Additionally, he established a market-pricing strategy for the affiliate group and negotiated the first Fox affiliate news service license fee with Fox broadcast affiliates. Mr. Garfield began his television career in 1984 at KNTV in San Jose before spending 11 years in the national television commercial time representation business managing sales offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. |
