Josh Ritter live from…the L.A. Natural History Museum? Fountains of Wayne play to a capacity crowd…on a 100-year-old ship? To see live broadcasts of these and other emerging and established musical acts playing in unconventional concert venues across North America and Europe, tune into the new weekly Ovation TV series, “Live From the Artist’s Den,” airing Thursdays, 8 PM EST, starting January 17th. The show will premiere Sunday, January 13th at 8 PM EST with a special sneak preview episode, featuring Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall (she of the ubiquitous, radio-saturating 2006 hit “Suddenly I See”)performing with a five piece band at the restored early 20th century Prince George Ballroom in Manhattan. Future episodes of the hour-long series are set to highlight artists including the aforementioned Ritter and Fountains of Wayne as well as Patty Griffin, Once’s The Swell Season, Crowded House, and more.
Founded in 2004,The Artists Den began as an attempt by music lover Mark Lieberman to stage great live music in non-traditional settings, from an abandoned warehouse in San Francisco to a private Southhampton beach house. Initially conceived as a series of intimate living room concerts, The Artists Den has expanded to include concerts across America and abroad by some of the most significant figures in popular music today. With this new series, The Artists Den joins forces with Ovation TV, a television network devoted entirely to art, personal creativity, and the desire to showcase and make accessible great artists in theater, dance, opera, literature, film, visual and fine art, music, design, photography and architecture. Check local cable and satellite listings for availability in your area.
