Harry Wolf

What do Spartacus, Little House on the Prairie, Gone with the Wind, and Petticoat Junction have in common? The answer: Harry L. Wolf. Born in San Francisco in 1908, Wolf became one of the leading cinematographers for television, as well as serving as the president of American Society of Cinematographers. His career started as a camera operator for Spartacus and Gone with the Wind, as well as working in the camera department for the films Citizen Kane and Rebecca. Although in his later years he served as cinematographer for B-grade films The Nude Bomb (a return of Get Smart's Maxwell Smart) and A Cry in the Wilderness, Wolf also worked on a number of successful television shows including Baretta, Beverly Hillbillies, Columbo, Little House on the Prairie, McCloud, and Petticoat Junction. Harry Wolf received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1993, the year of his death.
