Fabien Verschaere

Fabien Verschaere's wild and wondrous paintings and drawings portray a world of characters, animals, and creatures in a landscape that is as personal as it is mythological. Born in Paris in 1975, Verschaere was trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. A winner of the Dena Foundation Art Award, Verschaere's work across mediums of paper and walls is partly autobiographical, creating comparisons to the tradition and colorful vibrancy of Toulouse Lautrec. Verschaere has exhibited around the world, including shows at the Art Statements, Hong-Kong, China; Baltic Contemporary Art Center, UK; Contemporary Art Museum, Guangdong, China; Draiocht Gallery, Dublin, Ireland; Galerie Traversée, Munich, Germany; Galica Arte Contemporanea, Milano, Italy; Musée d'Art Contemporain, Lyon, France; National Gallery, Tirana, Albania; Parker's Box, Brooklyn, USA; Prague Biennale 2, Czech Republic; and the IIIème Beinnale de Montréal, Canada.
