The Artful Codgers
So cunning were a pair of retirees from Lancashire, that they fooled patrons and experts alike with forgeries sold to museums, galleries and collectors the world over. From 1989 through 2006, 84-year-old George Geenhalgh, wife Olive, his son Shaun created forgeries of famous paintings, sculptures and artifacts. All this was done in the shed behind their shared home. Not only did they deceive the experts, but also their friends and neighbors, who didn't have the slightest suspicion of what was going on in the Geenhalgh's backyard.
