Dragon Songs: Lang Lang in China
This documentary follows Chinese star pianist Lang Lang on a homecoming concert tour that culminates in a performance of traditional Chinese music at the Central Conservatory of Beijing. For Lang Lang it is a journey back to his roots, having left China eight years ago to start his worldwide career. His history corresponds with the dreams of 38 million Chinese children learning to play the piano. He made the breakthrough from Shenyang province to the major worldwide stages; and at the age of 23 he is one of the superstars of classical music. Lang Lang views himself as mediator between cultures away from concert stages. To him, his success and his exceptional talent are also an obligation to lend support to the next generation of his country.
