School's Out: Self-Taught Artists
School's Out follows three self-taught artists - Grandma Moses, who helped to popularize folk art, Bill Traylor who grew up as a slave and began making drawings using crude tools, and William Hawkins who used enamel house paint on board. All three of these artists were discovered late in life and have proven that without lessons it is indeed possible to create visionary art that includes a purity of expression that is unique, original and riveting.
