The Fashion Fund
Anna Wintour, the legendary editor of Vogue magazine, oversees a competition in which 10 designers get a chance to work alongside industry luminaries to prove they have what it takes to be named Fashion Fund Designer of the Year – an award that comes with $300,000 and a one-year mentorship with some of the biggest names in fashion.

Anna Wintour has been Editor in Chief of Vogue since 1988. In 2003, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and spearheaded the establishment of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Her achievements as a leader in the fashion world are reflected in numerous awards and appointments, including the Order of the British Empire, the Legion d’Honneur, and the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. Her career includes positions at Harpers & Queen, Harper’s Bazaar, New York magazine, HG, British Vogue, and Teen Vogue. She is an active fundraiser for AIDS Research and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Diane Von Furstenberg
Diane von Furstenberg is the President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and a recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award. She is one of the fashion world’s most successful and influential women, and in 2012 she was named the Most Powerful Woman in Fashion by Forbes magazine. Diane is committed to fostering young designers and to empowering female leaders and entrepreneurs worldwide. In the 1970s, her wrap dress came to symbolize power and independence for a generation of women, and today DVF is a global luxury brand distributed in over 55 countries.
Ken Downing is the Senior Vice President and Fashion Director for Neiman Marcus. Mr. Downing works with leaders in the fashion industry and esteemed designers like Zac Posen and Stella McCartney to bring luxury and style to the Neiman Marcus customer. He is a fixture at international Fashion Weeks and a regular speaker and author on fashion and the fashion industry. He is often featured in news and media outlets for his insider perspectives on everything from the business of fashion to seasonal trends for men and women.
Jenna Lyons is the President and Executive Creative Director of J.Crew Group, Inc. Her leadership and stylesetting has brought unprecedented success to the brand, and in 2013 she was named to Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Jenna Lyons began her career with an internship at Donna Karan. She then joined J.Crew, where she has grown up along with the company over the past 20 years.
Steven Kolb is the Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Through the CFDA’s initiatives, Kolb helps nurture the next generation of designers and promotes American fashion worldwide. He is a key player in New York Fashion Week and a leader in the fashion industry. Kolb has published eight books on fashion and fashion history. He is also instrumental in fundraising efforts to benefit cancer research, AIDS research, and disaster relief as well as fashion education and mentoring.
Rag & Bone
Rag & Bone is an international fashion label founded by Marcus Wainwright and David Neville. In 2006, Rag & Bone was named a finalist in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and in 2010 the Council of Fashion Designers of America named them Menswear Designers of the Year. Known for their wearable clothing that melds classic tailoring with an edgy yet understated New York aesthetic, the label redefines urban style. Rag & Bone continues to expand and is now available in over 39 countries.
