The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s newly renovated Costume Institute has been renamed the Anna Wintour Costume Center. The Vogue editor in chief and Condé Nast artistic director has been a Met trustee since 1999, raising roughly $125 million for the prestigious institute. Between that and raising $40 million for the renovations alone, Ms. Wintour’s name was an easy candidate for the incredible honor. When the institute reopens its doors on May 8th, it will include a 4,200-square-foot main gallery, a refurbished costume conservation laboratory and expanded study and storage facilities.
Be sure to check out Anna Wintour as a judge in Ovation’s new series The Fashion Fund, premiering this Wednesday at 10PM ET.
