World-renowned storm chaser and global adventurer George Kourounis is on a mission. As host of Angry Planet, he encourages viewers to break free of their routines, transcend their fears, and take action on climate change.

An intrepid environmentalist, George travels to the most inhospitable places on earth and experiences the most extreme weather conditions imaginable. He started chasing tornadoes and other storms more than 15 years ago, but it’s not just about an adrenaline rush for George. Because by experiencing these mind-blowing wonders of nature, his goal is to better understand and protect the magnificent planet we call home.

George is a member of The Explorers Club, and was awarded the Canadian Chapter of The Explorer’s Club highest honor, the Stefansson Medal. He is also a member of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society, the Canadian Council For Geographic Education, and was nominated for Gemini awards in 2008 and 2009 for his work on Angry Planet. George is also an avid photographer.
