  • The Nutcracker: Berlin State Opera, Malakhov airs on Monday, Dec. 10. 🇩🇪

    • The Nutcracker is a magical fairytale full of vivacity and life and its musical brilliance is brought to its peak through the interpretation of the renowned conductor Daniel Barenboim.
  • The Nutcracker: Mariinsky (2012) airs on Tuesday, Dec. 11. 🇷🇺

    • This version of the Nutcracker from the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, the first home to the Christmas classic, features the original score of Tchaikovsky, the renowned choreography from Vainonen, and the magnificent set design by Virsaladze. With deliberate and flawless performances by Alina Somova and Vladimir Shklyarov along with Valery Gergiev steady hand as conductor, this production will transport you back to 1892.
  • The Nutcracker: Royal Opera House (2016) airs on Wednesday, Dec. 12. 🇬🇧

    • This all-time ballet favorite is gloriously put on stage in Peter Wright’s production, with choreography by Lev Ivanov. Tchaikovsky’s ravishing score, the period designs including an ingenious Christmas, and outstanding principals of the Royal Ballet make for a captivating performance.
  • The Nutcracker: Czech National Ballet (2017) airs on Thursday, Dec. 13. 🇨🇿

    • Artistic Director Petr Zuska brings new life and a modern flavor to the beloved classic ballet. In this new staging, the scenery and costumes erupt into an explosion of colors.
  • The Nutcracker: Opernhaus Zurich (2018) airs on Friday, Dec. 14. 🇨🇭

    • Choreographer Christian Spuck puts The Nutcracker’s literary origin in Romanticism front and center in his adaptation. He brings back the fairytale of the princess Pirlipat, who turns into a nut monster, and plays with the characters’ absurdity and overwrought humor.
