OVATION AND SPECTRUM ANNOUNCE CREATIVE CITY PROJECT AS STAND FOR THE ARTS AWARD RECIPIENT

ORLANDO, Fla.:Ovation, America’s only arts network, will join Spectrum to recognize and award Creative City Project $15,000 as part of their Stand for the Arts joint initiative, which is dedicated to supporting local arts, cultural and educational organizations. While the original award was $10,000, Charter Communications provided an additional $5,000 donation for the project.

Spectrum News 13 In Focus Florida host Allison Walker-Torres will emcee the event on Friday, October 19, 2018 along Orange Avenue, right in the heart of Downtown Orlando.

The award will be used for outreach to raise awareness of available grants and scholarships that promote the arts throughout the region.

“We have partnered with Spectrum here in Central Florida to recognize their outstanding work both as a highly creative arts organization and a key contributor to the community and the local economy,” said Sol Doten, VP, Content Distribution and Marketing, Ovation. “Spectrum has been a great partner and supporter of Ovation and we are extremely pleased that they have joined us in Orlando and across the country for our Stand for the Arts Awards program.”

“We’re proud to stand with Ovation to salute Creative City Project for its innovative programming in Orlando,” said Marva Johnson, Vice President, State Government Affairs for Charter Communications. “Creative City Project and all of this year’s Stand for the Arts Awards honorees truly enrich the communities they serve across the country.”

In addition, Spectrum will also run public service announcements to highlight its Stand for the Arts partnership with Ovation and reinforce the value local arts organizations bring to communities across the country.

Grant recipients were chosen based on three criteria: their level of community outreach and engagement, their ability to create inclusive access to artistic programming and their innovative approach to arts education and skills development.
