OVATION CELEBRATES NOTEWORTHY WOMEN WITH A TALE OF TWO SISTERS DOCUMENTARY SERIES FROM 3DD ENTERTAINMENT

The Arts Network Acquires Two Seasons of Fascinating Sisters Docs

Los Angeles, CA: Ovation, America’s only arts network, has acquired the U.S. broadcast rights for a documentary series about remarkable women from 3DD Entertainment. The deal is for two seasons of A Tale of Two Sisters (8 x 60’), which will air on Ovation’s linear channel and on-demand service Ovation NOW. The announcement was made today by Scott Woodward, EVP Programming, Ovation.

A Tale of Two Sisters is a collection of documentaries which focus on some of the most iconic women in history and tell their fascinating stories. These are stories of execution, war, torture, love, death, sex and world-altering acts. This documentary series looks at how the lives of these women impacted society and history, but also at the impact they had on each other’s lives as sisters. Featured sisters include: Amelia and Muriel Earhart; Diana and Jessica Mitford; Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret; Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Lee Radziwell; and others.

“We’re pleased to bring this excellent documentary series focused on trailblazing women to Ovation’s audience,” stated Woodward. “The impact of these women is profound; we look at explorers, royalty, suffragettes and more. We explore not only how history has treated these women, but also how their private relationships affected their actions.”

“We’re quite excited to be working with Ovation yet again. As Indie producers, from our view, what sets Ovation apart is that they take such care and time in the promotion of our programmes,” said Patricia Hickey, Head of Sales and Co-Production, 3DD Entertainment. “We really feel they value the work that we do, and the success of the programmes in the US has a lasting effect for us in other markets. Ours is a very important partnership.”

A Tale of Two Sisters is set to premiere on Ovation on Monday, May 6th. Episodes will also be available on Ovation NOW.
