Crime Drama Also Stars Annabeth Gish, Ted Levine, and Matthew Lillard
Ovation TV, America’s premier arts network, is set to air the Peabody Award-winning series The Bridge later this fall. Produced by Shine America and adapted from the Danish-Swedish crime series Bron/Broen, The Bridge is a crime thriller exploring the tensions on the US-Mexico border. The series features an impressive cast, with Oscar® nominee Demián Bichir (A Better Life), Cannes Film Festival Best Actress winner Diane Kruger (In the Fade), Annabeth Gish (Barry, Midnight Mass), Ted Levine (Big Sky, The Alienist), and Matthew Lillard (Good Girls, Bosch), while showrunner Elwood Reid is currently an executive producer on ABC’s crime drama Big Sky. Ovation TV will begin airing The Bridge on Wednesday, October 12 at 11pm ET.
The first season begins when a dead body is found on the bridge connecting the USA and Mexico, forcing Sonya Cross (Kruger) from El Paso PD to work with her Mexican counterpart, Marco Ruiz (Bichir), to catch a serial killer operating on both sides of the border. Marco understands the slippery politics of Mexican law enforcement and is one of the last good men in the department. He’s charming, but also cunning, and will do whatever it takes to get what he needs. This does not sit well with Sonya, who strictly follows both rules and protocol. The case leads them into a string of murders on the border.
Starting on October 19th, Ovation will then air episodes in three-hour blocks. Descriptions below.
