As Executive Vice President, Network Strategy, Liz Janneman serves as Ovation TV’s guiding strategic force, focused on business strategies that deliver incremental viewership, ad sales revenue and overall brand momentum. Toward these goals, Janneman oversees both the network’s advertising sales and marketing divisions.
Janneman has been a critical driver of Ovation TV’s success, tripling Ovation TV’s Ad Sales revenue since arriving at the company in 2009. Janneman began her sales career with Turner at CNN in 1989 as an account executive and was promoted to Vice President, Ad Sales both in New York and in Los Angeles in 1992 and 1993 respectively. She was named SVP of Ad Sales for Turner Sports in 1994 and then SVP of Ad Sales for Turner Entertainment Networks in 1995. Before working on the network side, Janneman worked as VP/Associate Buying Director for Saatchi & Saatchi.
Janneman graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Business Administration. Fluent in 3 languages, she resides in Los Angeles with Case and their two Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
Phil Gilligan serves as Chief Financial Officer of Ovation TV and brings 30+ years of financial management experience to the network. As CFO, Gilligan is responsible for the management of business operations, in addition to oversight of the company’s Finance, Treasury, Accounting, IT and Administration functions. A seasoned finance and media executive, Gilligan’s career is an ever-growing roster of financial and operational accomplishments.
Prior to Ovation TV, Gilligan was a financial advisor with iAdvisory Services, focusing on project management and system implementation for medium size businesses. From 2009 to 2012, he was Chief Financial Officer of Universal Sports Network, and prior to that held various senior level positions with Fox Entertainment Group. Gilligan was Senior Vice President of Finance for Fox Cable Networks, with financial responsibility for a portfolio of cable networks including FX, Fox Movie Channel, Fox Sports Net, Fox Soccer Channel, Fueltv, Fox Reality and National Geographic Channel among others. Gilligan began his career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation and held senior financial positions at Group W Broadcasting & Cable, 7UP Bottling Company and PIP Printing prior to joining Fox Cable Networks.
Gilligan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Villanova University and also holds an MBA from Pepperdine University. He resides in Agoura, CA with his wife and three children.
As Executive Vice President, Content Distribution, John Malkin is responsible for leading the network’s distribution efforts across all platforms, including linear (SD and HD) TV Everywhere, VOD, SVOD and digital.
Malkin joins Ovation from the NFL Network where he was VP, Affiliate Distribution. At NFL Network he oversaw and managed key components of the NFL’s television networks, NFLN and NFL RedZone, including affiliate sales, TV Everywhere, and content distribution on both linear and OTT platforms. Previously, Malkin held positions at Fox News, with his most recent being that of VP, Affiliate Marketing and Local Sales where he oversaw the marketing of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network across affiliate and consumer platforms. Prior to Fox News, he was Regional Director at E! Entertainment Television, Regional Sales Manager at MTV Networks, and Regional Sales Manager at Times Mirror Magazines.
Malkin is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington and a member of the Board of the T. Howard Foundation. In 2013, he was named CableFAX’s Affiliate Sales Person of the Year.
Scott Woodward oversees all aspects of Ovation TV’s multi-platform content, including scheduling and program planning, acquisitions, co-productions, development, original programming, on-air promotions, VOD and the network’s digital operations. He also oversees the company’s in-house multi-platform, production unit, Ovation Studios, which launched in May 2013. Prior to joining Ovation TV, Woodward served as Vice President, Programming and Production at TVGN and was responsible for the network’s re-launch in 2004. At TVGN, Scott had creative oversight of production teams that produced 500+ hours of content per year. He was also responsible for program planning of the linear, VOD and broadband networks, as well as for acquisitions and the network’s ongoing development slate.
Previously, Woodward was an executive producer at E! Entertainment Television, for domestic, international and online series and specials. Among the shows he worked on were Wild On (one of E!’s top-rated series), Behind the Scenes, Extreme Close Up, Search Party, and E! While attending Ithaca College, Woodward landed an internship at BBC in London, where he worked on the documentary series Arena Art and Design. Shortly after graduating, he worked on the PBS series Live From Lincoln Center, the first live stereo simulcast of a music series from the famed New York venue.

As Senior Vice President, Marketing and On Air Promotions, David Widerøe oversees all of the network’s on and off-air branding, consumer marketing, on air promotions and custom content creation for advertisers.

Ken Solomon is Chairman of Ovation TV and was a key architect in the August 2006 acquisition of the network by a group of private investors led by Hubbard Media Group and including Arcadia Investment Partners, of which he is a partner; Corporate Partners II; Perry Capital and The Weinstein Company. He was instrumental in helping to develop the network’s business plan and its new programming and branding direction, as well as in securing the investor funding and recruiting the executive team currently operating the network.
Mr. Solomon is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Tennis Channel, the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to tennis and the lifestyle that surrounds it. As President of Universal Studios Television (also Studios USA Television), Mr. Solomon oversaw program development and production, as well as marketing and distribution activities on a worldwide basis for primetime network, cable, syndication, and made-for-television movies. Previously, as co-head of DreamWorks Television, he worked with the new studio’s legendary founders in laying the groundwork and helping create and develop its extensive worldwide television operations.

Rob Rader is a highly experienced business affairs attorney with eighteen years of professional experience for high-growth digital media companies, multi-billion dollar media companies, cable networks and major and boutique law firms, including over $7 billion of M&A and financings. He is experienced in digital media with a focus on the content, ad sales, mobile, apps and internet sectors, including such major digital companies as Amazon, Microsoft, YouTube, Machinima, Maker Studios, BuzzMedia, AOL, Collective Digital Network, the Orchard (Sony), Boing Boing, Federated Media, Electronic Arts and Activision. His large company domestic media work experience includes advising or negotiating with major companies, including MGM, CBS, NBC/Universal, Fox, Miramax/Disney, Goldman Sachs, Marvel Studios, DIRECTV, PBS, National Geographic, Univision and Danjaq (James Bond). Rader’s experience spans the gamut of legal, business and operational aspects of digital and traditional media with specialty fields in content, mobile, online/internet, interactive media, advertising and significant international experience. Rader’s major skills are overseeing operations, including human resources and risk management/insurance issues; running in-house business departments for media companies, including supervising outside counsel for litigation, corporate, trademark and bankruptcy matters; and business development activities such as strategic partnerships and financing. He has handled all aspects of financing, acquisition, development, production, promotion, distribution and licensing of television, cable, film, video, consumer products, location-based entertainment, videogames, mobile and digital content for studios and outside clients including experience in all forms of distribution (digital, theatrical, television, non-theatrical, home entertainment, radio and stage theatrical) and ancillary exploitations.
At Ovation TV, Rader has responsibility for all business and legal matters, including production, distribution, marketing, litigation, intellectual property, real estate, corporate and human resources.
Mr. Rader graduated magna cum laude with highest honors from Harvard College. He obtained his Master’s Degree from Stanford Graduate School in sociology. Mr. Rader attended Harvard Law School where he received his J.D. magna cum laude and delivered Harvard’s graduate commencement address. He frequently speaks to the media and at industry events, including SAG, LA Business Today, Bloomberg TV and Producers Guild of America. He is an adjunct Professor of Law at Pepperdine Law School and has guest lectured at UCLA Extension and USC on digital media.
Mr. Rader is highly active in public service. He is as an elected Trustee and Vice Chair of Santa Monica College which owns the Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Center for the Performing Arts. He is on the Board of Directors of Downtown Santa Monica Inc., which runs the Third Street Promenade, and the KCRW Foundation, which supports the nation’s leading independent public radio station KCRW.
Rader lives in Santa Monica with his two children Dashiell and Zora.
